Short term Working Plan

Posted here will be the upcoming working plan for the coming week/period.

New Faces and Old are welcomed. Take a challenge, an interest an opportunity. Learn something new or impart your skills to others. There is no limit to the opportunities the Rother Valley Railway has.......

    For the Weekend of the 24th/25th July Simon Relf is holding a Tracking working weekend

    Geoff will be continuing to upgrade his three plank wagon

    Helen will be continuing to refit the VSOE (buffet/Shop)

    After this weekend it is expected the shop will take a priority.

  2. Mid august: As well as work continuing on the above, for which all possible help is welcome, there's a long list of other jobs to be started or finished off. Basic ones include:

    - prepping the GBL van (east side) for its repaint
    - stripping and painting two metal ramps for wheelchairs etc
    - repairing/completing concrete edging on the platform
    - fence mending
    - shifting a heap of road planings
    - various mechanical jobs on our plant and equipment
    - ongoing tidy up of p/way materials etc

    So come and lend a hand - no railway experience needed. Just a basic safety briefing will get you started.

  3. October: Jobs include painting of fencing, trolleys, new steps, buffers; and work to bring the Mk 1 coach into use as the new RVR buffet.

  4. Simon has been in contact today with me and has requested that if possible three volunteers come into work on Saturday 27th November as he would like to get on with finishing the drilling of fishplate holes and to jack and pack.

    Poor turnout this week. Members much dishartened, Not moch achieved.

    Robertsbridge Christmax Faire - thinking caps on for what we can do. Electrics for N Gauge layout in poor condition. Will spend three days this week on them but not certain we will get them finished in time.

    - demolition of the vandal-targetted hut at North Bridge Street.
    - site tidy
    - LNER wagon repaint
    - GBLV ongoing revamp
    - picnic area fence painting
    - fencing repairs
